Canticle Stations
It is with You
we journey O Christ to a cruciform
lifestyle  that  honors
Integrity of Creation
These Canticle Stations were inspired by dialogue between Carol Tookey and Joyce Wilding during Joyce’s TSSF formation process in 2006.  We wanted to “ritualize” a meditation that reflects the beauty of all creation and offers penitential prayers for better care of God’s world.  St. Francis’ Canticle of Brother Sun provided the key topics in this meditation.  Eric Doyle’s book, St. Francis and The Story of Brotherhood (see notes with slide #14 to learn more about this book) influenced the focus of many phrases on each slide. We hope individuals and groups who use this meditation will find meaningful penitential and celebratory components that exclaim:   "O God be Praised for gifts of all Creation!  O God, help us examine what we've done.  May our examination and petitions help our conversion and healing of the earth.
On June 30, 2007 at TSSF Provincial Convocation, Joyce will introduce the meditation, then show six minutes of AWAKENING THE DREAMER DVD that is based on the New Universe Story.  This film shows the beauty of earth and why humans must change how they live to reduce negative impact on the biosphere.
After we view the short (two plus minutes) Canticle Stations PPT show with music, we will hear several responses to each slide  and discuss what Franciscans can do to expand our attention to Integrity of Creation.   Our reflections and responses will help us affirm:
We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you - by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Note:  We may conclude our meditations by viewing (four minute) PPT show - nature photos that illustrate Psalm 104, the Creation Psalm that enriches our awe and respect for God’s world!   And just as there much diversity in God’s Creation, there is much diversity in reflections in the next 13 slides...
